For the final week of our Summer of Prayer, we're looking at spiritual warfare. Spiritual warfare is petitioning God for kingdom outcomes over whatever situation we are facing. This is our privilege as children of the King, to participate in releasing His Kingdom on earth!

This week, we invite you to lean in with us as we fast together! Ask the Holy Spirit to highlight how He would like you to participate—He can reveal what to fast, and also why. The what and the why will be different for most of us, and we’ve provided a few suggestions below.

Beholding Jesus makes us say, “As I walk with You, I want to become more like You.” He responds by leading us on the path of righteousness. He doesn’t love us more or less on our worst day or our best day… but when we are in sin, out of alignment with His ways, there is a blockage preventing us from hearing Him and receiving from Him. He is so kind and wants to help us remove that, through the powerful tools of repentance and forgiveness.

Silence is counter-cultural. It can be uncomfortable, so we often avoid it! But it is in silence that we discipline and sensitize ourselves to hear the “still small voice” of the Lord. Our silent, listening prayers can be our most powerful encounters with God.
